Paddle Surfing

On Sunday we went to the beach in Mastalaceñas to paddle surf-it was a blast!

Sevilla Ganó Contra Valencia!

Sevilla upset Valencia this past Saturday. It was an amazing game!

Aracena

Last weekend we spent a day in Aracena. We explored La Gruta de las Maravillas, the Cave of Marvels, which was beautiful. There were crystals growing from the cave walls and ceilings and there were several underground lakes with 100% pure and natural water.

We also went to the Iberian ham museum. It was pretty interesting and we got to see ham from all over the world. The last stop on our Aracena tour was a famous pastelería, or bakery. The pastries were DELICIOUS!

Bullfight!

Last week we went to La Plaza de Toros (Bulls' Plaza) to watch a bullfight. There were three matadors and they each fought 2 bulls. The matadors have gold embroidery on their outfits while their helpers have silver or other colored embroidery. It was SO interesting to watch!

Itálica

After our final day of classes, we went to Itálica, Roman ruins near Seville.

The amphitheater where gladiators and beasts fought was especially cool! One of the ancient houses had beautiful gardens and a huge oven.

El Río Guadalquivir

Last night we went on a boat ride down the Guadalquivir River to see Sevilla. It was around sunset so everything looked rosy and gorgeous. One of my favorite parts of Sevilla is all of the awesome graffiti along the river:)

Fútbol

On Saturday night we went to a fútbol match between Sevilla and Real Sociedad. It was crazy and a lot of fun. The fans cheered, chanted, screamed and shouted the entire time. Sevilla won 1-0- que suerte!

Júzcar

Yesterday we went to Júzgar, el pueblo de los Pitufos, aka the Smurfs' Village :) It was painted blue to advertise for the movie. We had a fabulous time full of hilarity. Era pitufástico!

We also went to Zahara, a white city. There was a castle which took a lot of effort to climb up to...but it was definitely worth the effort. Vale la pena!

Córdoba

On Satuday we went to Córdoba and visited a palace of the Catholic kings, a Jewish synagogue and a Muslim mosque now a Catholic Cathedral. They were all beautiful!
